Ask The Expert
Susan Cantrell is Managing Director of ASHP Advantage, a leading provider of continuing education offerings for pharmacists, physicians, and other health care audiences. ASHP Advantage is a division of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the 30,000-member national professional association representing pharmacists who practice in hospitals, managed care organizations, home- and long-term-care facilities, and other components of health systems.
Susan has extensive experience in health care continuing education, pharmacy practice, and association management. She has been at the helm of ASHP Advantage since its launch by ASHP in 1995. As Managing Director, she oversees all aspects of the division's operations and business development activities. During her tenure with ASHP, Susan has coordinated and managed numerous educational symposia and conferences for health care professionals, coordinated the development and distribution of related publications and multimedia e-learning programs, and planned and managed focus groups, advisory panels, and other market-research projects. She was a key player in ASHP's successful effort to become the only national pharmacy association accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. Susan has been instrumental is expanding ASHP Advantage's educational offerings to incorporate e-learning strategies and other innovative content delivery strategies. She has been a presenter at the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education Annual Conference and other national meetings on the topic of innovative methods for content delivery in continuing medical education.
Susan received her Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from the University of Mississippi and completed an ASHP-accredited residency in hospital pharmacy practice at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Providing training services for Delta College Corporate Service (DCCS) since 1979, Paul Seidel has held positions including Director of Training Operations, Manager of Training and Service Instructor. In his current position as Executive Director responsible for strategic planning and overall direction of Corporate Services, Paul has been instrumental in helping DCCS emerge as an innovative and responsive supplier of healthcare training services and developing a partnership with DDI to provide state-of-the-art training solutions tailored specifically to address the demands of today's healthcare organizations.
Paul has served on the Board of Governors and Chairman of the Educational Committee for an industry based training managers council, an organization designed to help member companies better train their customers to understand and utilize the latest products and techniques. He has setup-training programs and established training centers globally. These activities have occurred in China, Morocco, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Israel, Mexico and USA.
