Improve your sales and avoid economic whiplash
Experts Spider Lockhart and Ulrich Herter give you the know-how (ANN ARBOR, Mich.)— The recent economic nosedive has several big-name companies in a frenzy as they try to reduce inefficiencies and bolster their sales. Companies such as AMD, Micron, Canon, Saks and GAP have all witnessed failing sales efforts, not to mention the banking undertow and deteriorating home market.
However, despite the sales slump, experts Spider Lockhart and Ulrich Herter, co-authors of “On Selling Management: The PATH to a Better Top Line” (Arbor Eight Publishing, November 2008), point out that company sales can actually improve during the economic turbulence. The strategy is simple: follow The PATH by consistently measuring, driving and analyzing sales activities, which in turn, will reduce sales cost and increase value to company stakeholders.
According to Lockhart and Herter, sales success must start with sales management. Rather than focusing on the individual contributor, The PATH concept is directed toward sales management with the intent to organize and drive company-wide sales and, ultimately, company success.
“This is not another sales method, technique or secret to… Instead, this is a foundation for sales management to make the right decision in order to drive individual and collective results to higher levels of performance,” says Herter.
Lockhart, who has been practicing and perfecting The PATH for the past 25 years, says the concept was developed partly as a systematic approach to managing the efforts of individual sellers. “The PATH informs and shapes strategy while returning dramatic top line results,” says Lockhart.
Spider Lockhart and Ulrich Herter have over 60 years combined experience in sales management and company leadership. In 2007, the men joined forces to found Selling Management Partners, LLC, a company focused on improving sales and sales management by introducing decision-making frameworks such as The PATH.
